Vectors of Traditionalism – the East, Islam, Paganism

Donetsk Regional Youth Association for the Study of Religions, Center of Religious Science Research and International Spiritual Relations, Ukrainian Center of Islamic Studies, Creative Group «Aghlaqin», Association for Philosophy & Religious Studies hold the round table “Vectors of Traditionalism – the East, Islam, Paganism” (In honour of the 115 anniversary since the birth of Julius Evola) on November 16, 2013 in Donetsk, Ukraine. The purpose of the round table is an explication of the reasons of interest of traditionalists to Islam, the Eastern religions and the European ethnic religions, and also a traditionalism role in intensification of the all-European interest to them. Circle of topics offered to discussion:

— From pre-modernity to primordiality – change of romanticism by traditionalism;
— Islam as a vector of attention of the European traditionalists: Guenon, Schuon, Valsan;
— Julius Evola, Arturo Reghini and the Italian Neopythagoreanism;
— Traditionalism in the East and the East in representations of traditionalists;
Ananda Coomaraswamy’s role in formation of the European traditionalism;
— Relationship of nationalism, ethnic religions and neopaganism in a context of anti-modern ideology;
— Slavic and Ukrainian neopaganism in all-European space;
— Julius Evola – “the last kshatriya of the West”. Evola’s place in the system of coordinates of traditionalism.

The questionnaire of the participant and theses of reports (from 3 000 to 5 000 signs) or full texts of articles (from 15000 to 25000 signs) we ask to send to the address [email protected] till October 12, 2013. The edition of the collection of reports and articles is planned. The arrangement fee – 20 UAH. Materials and the questionnaire need to be sent as the attached files which name has to be issued as follows: Ivanov K.K. Theses of report.doc or Ivanov K.K. Article.doc, Ivanov K.K. Questionnaire.doc.

Data which should be specified in the questionnaire: First name, middle initial, last name of the author, city, e-mail address, contact phone, work or study place, position, report name, sphere of scientific interests, need for the settlement. Working languages of the round table: Ukrainian, Russian, English.
