Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” announced the 7th Annual International Student Interdisciplinary Conference “Philosophy: The New Generation” which is going to be held in NaUKMA during 22-23rd of March, 2012. The subject of this year’s conference is “Philosophy and Education”. The following issues are proposed for discussion:
— The correlation and interaction between the philosophy and education
— The role of philosophy in the formation and transformation of educational paradigms
— The position of philosophy in contemporary education: the global and Ukrainian context
— The idea of the university: the role of philosophy in its substantiation
— Philosophy in the higher education: tradition and the present
— Philosophy in the school education
— “Philosophy for children”: the global experience and methods
— Philosophy and the conception of lifelong learning
— Studying and teaching philosophy: contemporary methods and practice
— A textbook on philosophy: the global and Ukrainian experience
— Philosophical education in Ukraine: its problems and future
Topic discussions are going to be held in the format of panels, round tables, masterclasses, presentations. The conference materials publication is planned. The working languages are Ukrainian, English and Russian. The applications should be sent to [email protected] until 25th of January, 2012. (The application form is added below.)
